The scientific focus of this workshop will be on Riemannian manifolds endowed with special geometric structures, such as almost hermitian manifolds, contact metric manifolds, G2 and Spin(7) manifolds, including their wide applications in various areas of mathematical physics. An interesting aspect of this area is that, though rooted in differential geometry, it has deep and extensive interactions with complex (algebraic) geometry, and global analysis. Also, it has become clear recently that techniques borrowed from symplectic and contact geometry are useful in metric problems as well.

It is our goal to bring together leading experts from the aforementioned areas, as well as promising students and young researchers, in order to create an open learning environment and the ground for a fruitful exchange of ideas, with the goal of creating new visions and collaborations between experts and students alike.
